The catalog says my book is available, but I can't find it on the shelf.

There are several things we can do about this situation: 1) A staff member can go with you to the shelf location and see if s/he can find it. 2) A staff member can check on the carts of books waiting to be shelved, either on the floors or behind one of our service desks. 3) It's possible that someone is using the book, and it could be in a study carrel or by a copy machine. 4) You may be looking in the wrong collection. For example, the book could be in Theological Reference, but you're looking in the general collection. 5) the book is truly missing. In this last case, we can alert staff at Access Services and they will mark the book "missing."
